Director of Music Ministries - Susan Hartney Union Lutheran Church has a deep, rich musical heritage. Susan Hartney joined our professional staff in August 2004 as Director of Music Ministries and has enhanced the worship experience for us with new contemporary and traditional music. We have a number of ensembles that help to lead the congregation in the responses and hymns during worship. They also offer special music that complements the readings for the day to create a unified worship experience. All our groups welcome
new members – of all ages – who have a genuine interest in
making a commitment to serve the Lord and their congregation through music. Our Current Ensembles: - Which one is right for you?
One or more of the ensembles typically serve in a music leadership role each Sunday and at other special occasions throughout the year. During worship, we use hymns, songs, and liturgical settings from a variety of sources, some of which, if necessary, are duplicated with copyright permission in the bulletin:
Growing our musical
library in all areas is one of our priorities. We are pleased that we
have the ability to offer selections representing current musical trends
as well as the beloved traditional favorites.
Rehearsal Areas and Instruments: We are fortunate to have a well-equipped Choir Room, located on the Lower Level of the building. Most of our ensembles rehearse in that room, with the exception of the Handbell Choir, which rehearses in the nave. The instruments we currently have include:
